Teachers who want their blogs to be successful should spend some time to choose a catchy name that’s easy to remember and meaningful.
It doesn’t have to be overly clever or witty. It just needs to make sense and connect with your intended audience. And if that’s your students, then have them in mind when you’re thinking of potential names.
Once you’ve got a short list of options, you can even run them by a few pupils in your class to get real feedback. Always keep an open mind. Make the process of naming your blog fun and dynamic. Don’t just lock yourself in your study for hours on end trying to figure it out yourself.
So, what’s the best way to get started?
Begin by taking a look through the following list of 50 existing educator blog names to see what you like. Take note of how they’ve been constructed and the clever way words have been combined to produce a good name.
Once you’ve got a better idea of the naming style or styles you want for your blog, it’s time to get wordsmithing. Just like creative writing, don’t try to get it done all in one go. If no ideas come to mind, do something else, and come back to it when you feel inspired.
Give yourself a few days. Jot down everything you think of, however inappropriate it may seem. Your initial goal is to build a long list of ideas with different words. When you’ve completed this first phase, review the list and start editing. Play around and try different combinations. You’ll be amazed at what you can come up with once you’ve done some basic research and ground work first.
